The Fenixia Foundation is dedicated to helping special needs adults, children and their families thrive by providing care, offering resources, and bringing joy to this community to improve their mental health. Our mission is to help special needs individuals realize their potential, help families support their loved ones, and help caregivers and educators develop their ability to make a positive difference in this community.

With more than thirty years of experience working with special needs children and adults in U.S. and the Philippines, we have developed a breadth of resources, extensive knowledge, and trained caregivers to improve the lives of these individuals and their families.
Resources
With the support of our partnerships in the Philippines and the U.S., we've delivered more than 1,400 durable equipment and AAC devices and 125 boxes of school supplies. We've also refurbished special needs classrooms to provide sensory equipment, books, toys - -anything and everything a classroom might need.
In Coachella Valley, CA we are providing social and mental wellness activities to foster friendship, community, and strong mental health for teens and adults with disabilities.
Knowledge
By hosting workshop and webinars, we've helped more than 300,000 teachers and family members who have been eager to learn how to better the lives of their special needs students or family members.
Caregivers
Through our team of multi-disciplinary child development professionals, volunteers, and -- of course -- our generous donors, we've been able to support children, families, and communities with resources they do not often have access to. This includes medical resources and care, transportation to medical facilities, speech therapy and more.
Impact
As of 2024, through your donations and the amazing team of volunteers that power our force of good, we've been able to assess and serve more than 1,900 individuals with special needs in the Philippines and over 32,000 participants have attended one of our workshops or trainings.

Our founder, Lisa Valerio, has been involved since the early 90’s helping orphanages and conducting educational outreach efforts in the Philippines. In 2003 she had a son, Nathan, who was diagnosed with autism. As a tireless advocate for her son's well-being, family and friends in the Philippines asked Lisa to share the knowledge and resources that she had developed to support Nathan.
Lisa started building a team and a nonprofit organization to provide support for kids with learning and developmental differences, as well as for their families, caregivers and educators. In recognition of its origins, this organization was named for the Fenixia flower, which is only found in the Philippines. The name is also a reflection of its ambitions, as the Fenixia is a member of the daisy family, found in every part of the world and every color of the rainbow.
